As Apple Inc. prepares to unveil both a new high-end iPhone and a cheaper version for the first time next week, it is already working on something bigger, Wall street journal reported.

The report claims Apple has tested models with larger screens like six inches, which would be 2 inches bigger than its current models, and it would be one of the largest on the market. Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Note 3 with a screen measuring 5.7 inches, On Wednesday. If the new reports are not just rumours, Apple will overtake its Korean rival’s model screen size by early next year.

Apple stuck with the same 3.5-inch display on the first five generations of the iPhone, making the jump to a 4-inch display with the iPhone 5. That size is likely to remain on the iPhone 5S and 5C models that are expected to be announced Tuesday.The latter will be a lower-cost model that makes use of plastic and comes in several bright colors, if multiple leaks and reports are correct.

Earlier The Wall Street Journal‘s Ian Sherr reported via Twitter that Apple is testing iPhones with larger screens, in some cases much larger – up to 6-inches.Howewer, Apple declined to comment on the report.
