Yahoo completed their first acquisition on 2014. This the time the company acquires Aviate the popular contextual Android launcher. Aviate the one of the best and popular launchers on the Google Play Store.

Yahoo announced on their official blog post that “Today, at CES, we announced the acquisition of Aviate, a company that shares our vision for simple and intelligent mobile experiences. The Aviate team has created a product that changes the way users interact with their Android devices by connecting them to information at the moment it’s useful.  We’re thrilled to share what they’ve built and extend it to our users.

Aviate tracks your usage patterns and automatically categorizes applications you use on your Android phone based on context such as WiFi, GPS, time of day, or accelerometer.

Aviate announced on their blog “Since launching the product last fall, we’ve been amazed and encouraged by the incredibly positive response we’ve seen from the Android community. Today, we are absolutely thrilled to announce that Aviate is being acquired by Yahoo.”

Aviate isn’t going to stop their service and app will be available on the store for the users. So far Yahoo or Avite didn’t disclose  about the money Yahoo spend over Aviate to acquire the company.
