Square officially announced on their blog post says that “Today we are excited to announce that we have acquired BookFresh. BookFresh’s software helps local sellers create a seamless, self-service appointment booking experience that connects them instantly with new and existing customers. Just like Square, BookFresh is designed to give time back to sellers so they can focus on their business.”

BookFresh says Square’s mission to make commerce easy resonates deeply with us. Together, we can bring simple tools to local sellers everywhere and help them grow their business.

There is no need of changing for current BookFresh customers and they can still manage appointments online just as they did before. So far there is no plan for Square or BookFresh working together, BookFresh says teh products will operate separately.

Square was founded by  Jack Dorsey who is co-founder and co-creator of Twitter, and Jim McKelvey in 2009. The company recently acquired Evenly a software for sending and receiving payments with friends and Viewfinder a New York-based photo-sharing app
