Google acquired wearable Computing Device Company WIMM Labs

Search engine giant Google acquired wearable computing device company WIMM labs. The WIMM labes techology already used in Google’s Android platforms. The team WIMM labs will be join with the Android team. Accoprding to the reports the acquisition will help Google to make their smart watch devices more perfectly.


The acquisition news spreads from yesterday but so far the Google authority dint confirms. Now reports that they received the confirmation about the acqusition of WIMM from Google officials.

WIMM labs announced on their website that “During the summer of 2012, WIMM Labs entered into an exclusive, confidential relationship for our technology and ceased sales of the Developer Preview Kit. Existing WIMM One owners can continue to synchronize their devices at this time as well as contact us at [email protected]

“We’d like to thank all of our developers for their interest and willingness to experiment with our platform and look forward to exciting advances in the wearable market.”

About an year ago WIMM stops their works deactivate their official Twitter accounts and stops their product selling business. GigaOm says that the acquisition of WIMM is really appreciated because the company didn’t just develop a smartwatch device with a limited number of apps.

WIMM released their first smart watch product on 2009. What’s Google’s plan with the acquisition? May be their own smart watch. Just wait and watch.
