Amazon ‘Prime Air’ – Plans to Deliver Purchases with in 30 Minutes via Unmanned Drones

Worlds largest eCommerce company plans to introduce a new revolutionary purchase delivery system Amazon ‘Prime Air’.  With Prime Air Amazon plans deliver purchases with in 30 minutes via unmanned drones. According to LosAngeles Times “a futuristic delivery system that the company says will get packages into customers’ hands in half an hour or less, delivered via unmanned aerial vehicles”. Amazon officially announced about Prime Air on their website ‘We’re excited to share Prime Air — something the team has been working on in our next generation R&D lab. The goal of this new delivery system is to get packages into customers’ hands in 30 minutes or less using unmanned aerial vehicles”.

The delivery drone named as Octoper and the Octoper can pick a maximum of 23 kilograms. Amazon gets 86% of product orders less than 23 kilograms that’s the reason why Amazon maximize the product weight to 23 kilograms.

Jeff Bezos CEO of says that “The package is pulled off the lines by the octocopter, and then using GPS it is directed to the delivery address. When it arrives it releases the package on the doorstep. Because the octocopter has eight blades, Bezos said, if one broke the drone would still be able to safely drop off a package. As many have remarked, it looks like something out of the Jetsons”.

Amazon Prime Air will available for the customers in as soon as 4-5 years.
