Is Instagram plans to launch their own messaging service? Its almost confirmed that the Facebook owned photo and video sharing service users will get a new messaging service from the service like @instagram.com like an email address.
The news first reported on Gigaom.com, reported that “Well-placed sources tell us that the company is gearing up to launch new private messaging features inside its still red-hot photo and video sharing service. It is also experimenting with the idea of group messaging, our source tells us. The new features are likely to find home in the next version of Instagram, which is expected before end of the year.”
Instagram’s spoke person declined to comment on the report. But now some more popular tech blogs like TechCrunch.com, Mashable are reported that Instagram’s next big thing may be their own messaging service.
TechCrunch reports that “”Giving users on the Instagram network native email addresses could make the process of sending directly to individuals more seamless and integrated to the bigger platform. It could also be a way for those recipients of your emailed images a way to respond back to you,”
If its real that may be a holiday gift for Instagram users would make “perfect sense” because coming holidays are one of the busiest times for photo-sharing.
