TV social networking platform GetGlue is now tvtag. The name GetGlue will be no more but in its stead will be tvtag. On last November TechCrunch announced that i.TV has acquired GetGlue and the acquisition, which is expected to be announced soon.

Later i.tv CEO, Brad Pelo announced on their official website says We’re excited to announce the addition of GetGlue to the i.TV family. GetGlue has built an impressive product with a highly engaged audience.”

Today GetGlue sent news letters to their users says that “Next week, there will be some major updates to GetGlue and we wanted you to be the first to know.
As many of you are aware, this update has been a long time coming. GetGlue will now be known as tvtag.
The app icon and brand colors will change from blue to red.
Statics confirms GetGlue has 4.5 million registered users, over 1 billion social impressions every month to 100 million unique Facebook and Twitter users.
GetGlue’s service was launched in June 2010 as social TV application for the Web and mobile and used by fans of sports, TV shows and movies for checking what they are watching.
