Apple’s long rumored iWatch to launch in coming October, according to the new reports. The new device will be with a curved OLED touchscreen.
Japanese newspaper Nikkei’s report said “The U.S. firm said Thursday at its annual Worldwide Developers Conference that it will this autumn bring to market an upgraded mobile operating system for smartphones and tablet devices. The new watch-like wearable gear will run on this OS, which will be equipped with a centralized function to manage users’ biometric information via smartphones. It is expected to hit the market in October.”
The iWatch is expected to run with iOS 8. The company is planning to produce between three and five million of the new devices a month, Nikkei said.
The iWatch will include partnerships with companies such as Nike. Mashable reports “This would be consistent with earlier reports that have suggested an iWatch is already in production. Apple CEO Tim Cook said the company was working on “new categories” of products earlier this year.
