File hosting service Dropbox introduced steaming sync a new feature that significantly reduces time needed to synchronize large files. You can download the latest version now from Dropbox.
This is Dropbox’s own performance test and the result.
Dropbox says “While this was pretty fast, we were determined to make large file syncing even faster. With streaming sync, we can overlap those phases and “stream” data through our servers to your devices. That means an improved multi-client sync time for large files — typically 1.25x faster, and even up to 2x faster.”

Dropbox says they will be rolling out the new feature to those on the latest version of it over the next couple weeks.
