On last July search engine giant Google announced they are shutting down its social networking platform Orkut on this September 30. Google launched Orkut in 2004, the website is named after its creator, Google employee Orkut Büyükkökten.
Paulo Golgher, Engineering Director announced on a blog post says “Over the past decade, YouTube, Blogger and Google+ have taken off, with communities springing up in every corner of the world. Because the growth of these communities has outpaced Orkut’s growth, we’ve decided to bid Orkut farewell (or, tchau). We’ll be focusing our energy and resources on making these other social platforms as amazing as possible for everyone who uses them.”
From here its just 4 days left to see Orkut. After this September we wont able to see the old social network in action. Its time to say final bye bye to Orkut.
So we are publishing an Infographic that shows the brief History of Orkut.
