According to Wikipedia, A password manager is a software application or hardware that helps a user store and organize passwords. Password managers usually store passwords encrypted, requiring the user to create a master password: a single, ideally very strong password which grants the user access to their entire password database.
We already listed some popular password managers for Windows and Mac and Dashlane is one of them on the list. Your passwords are always generated locally by the Dashlane application, and they are always transmitted securely or encrypted when updating your passwords on Web sites.
According to Dashlane, Your master password is the password you chose when you first created your account. It is used to unlock all the content you saved into Dashlane, including your other password and your payment methods. For security reasons, it is not stored anywhere on their servers.
I forgot my Dashlane Password
So how can retrieve your Dashlane account if you forgot your password? Here are the steps.
There is no existing password recovery procedure. Your master password is the key to all your data. If you are unable to remember your password at all, you can reset your account.
1. Go to Dashlane Account Reset Page.
2. Enter your email address to reset your Dashlane account.
Please note that resetting your account will wipe all data associated with your existing Dashlane account, and cannot be undone.
